About our president and founder

Norman B. Gildin is a highly experienced fund raiser who is guided by principles of strategic planning that have been the hallmark of his success. His background encompasses the four major types of fund raising – annual campaigns, building fund and capital campaigns, planned giving and endowment fund giving.

Through its founder, SFG believes in a well organized, methodical approach to Development. SFG offers a sophisticated roadmap to fund raising with emphasis on the strategic planning required for this task. SFG is results oriented and that means getting the job done.

During his tenure at OHEL Children’s Home & Family Services, his leadership resulted in more than $30 million raised toward the annual campaign, and between $9-$10 million toward the capital campaign. In his eighteen year tenure at Metropolitan Jewish Geriatric Foundation, Norman’s leadership raised more than $30 million in annual and capital funds through private sector fundraising.

Norman was responsible for the fund raising activities of the Women’s Auxiliary at the Jewish Home for the Elderly of Fairfield, Connecticut where there were 1,000 members when he started and more than 4,000 members at the end of his term. He annually raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for special events at the Jewish Home.

Kenneth Brown

Steven Gildin, Esq.

Steven Gildin has been a practicing attorney in New York for more than fifteen years during which he has handled a tremendous volume of cases. Steven has amassed a vast experience in nearly all areas of the law.

Many of the cases Steven has handled have garnered much media attention on both the National and Local levels. Steven’s cases have been featured on The Today Show, CNN, MSNBC, New Yorker Magazine, New York Times, Post, Daily News, Newsday, New York Law Journal and throughout the New York Television and Radio News.

Steven also is an accomplished author, having been published several times in a national magazine on both legal and non-legal matters.

Steven’s current practice serves the Greater New York City Metropolitan area. He handles a wide area of general litigation cases including estate matters and a rich diversity of the law including, but not limited to, divorce, family court, criminal defense, education law and personal injury.

Steven was raised in Valley Stream, NY. He received his higher education degrees of Bachelor of Arts, Master’s of Public Administration and Juris Doctor all within New York. He currently resides on Long Island with his wife of sixteen years and their three children.

Kenneth Brown

Kenneth Brown brings a wealth of experience to his role at Strategic Fundraising Group, having spent almost 30 years in editing and writing. In his tenure as a reporter and editor for one of the city’s largest media groups, he honed his skills in taking complex matters and distilling them down into a form that was comprehensive, interesting and informational.

The frenetic pace and responsibilities inherent to the publishing world expected and received daily multi-tasking, independent thought as well as team cooperation. These were always meshed with accuracy, perspicacity and professionalism. His insider’s role in the media world has given him a rare insight into how to get publicity, what editors and reporters look for when receiving publicity materials and news releases and how to reach the right media people to get exposure for your event or organization.

Outside of the publishing world, Kenneth has done work for a wide range of organizations and individuals, writing brochures, website content, letters, press and news releases, as well as internal communications, corporate information materials and all related such needs.

Milton M. Markovitz

Founder and chief officer of Concepts & Enterprises 2000 since 1985, Milton M. Markovitz has earned an outstanding professional reputation for his administrative experience, organizational skills and effective oral and written communication abilities. His diversified background in academic/educational administration, not-for-profit management, and consultancy in matters pertaining to compliance regulations, represents a comprehensive expertise which has benefited a wide spectrum of not-for-profit clients whom he has served for almost three decades.

In particular, Milton Markovitz presents a synthesis of professional proficiencies which have consistently produced results in planning and directing funded projects. His management style focuses on teambuilding and empowering others, thereby creating strong extra and intra-cooperative networks.

Focusing his consultancy on 501(c)(3) organizations which require upgrading of their administrative management as a pre-requisite for Grantsmanship eligibility, Milton Markovitz serves educational, civic, cultural, religious clients and welfare corporations.

Milton Markovitz also provides: grants research, proposal writing, grants management, and project management. In addition, his comprehensive tri-lingual proficiency in English, Hebrew and Yiddish, and his strong personal commitment to the economic vitality of communities and institutions in the USA and in the State of Israel are attributes which have attracted and benefitted clients both in the USA and abroad.

Jay Wagner

Zev Kessler

Zev Kessler is a veteran fundraiser with more than 25 years of experience in the non-profit sector.  He has an extensive record of successfully working with organizations on annual and capital campaigns, as well as event planning, grant writing, planned giving and direct mail appeals. 

Zev worked for 14 years at the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland, where he played an integral role in implementing an annual $28 million campaign.  More recently, he served as the primary fundraising professional of a successful $25 million capital campaign to build a new campus for a Cleveland-based parochial school.  

In addition to his fundraising experience, Zev has written brochures, press releases, website material and annual reports.  He has planned and implemented numerous special events, board retreats and annual meetings. 

Zev holds Master’s Degrees in Public Administration from the University of Southern California and in Jewish Communal Service from Hebrew Union College.  He was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from HUC in recognition of his many years of service to the community.  He is the father of three and currently resides in Teaneck, New Jersey.
